Rhum CLÉMENT AOC Rhum Vieux Agricole Martinique

Present in over 60 countries, Rhum Clément has won several Gold Medals: Salon de l'Agriculture 2012 / Concours de Bruxelles 2011 / International Rum Conference and Rum Tasting Competition 2012.

This Clément V.S.O.P agricultural rum reveals an interesting aromatic complexity. Fans will appreciate the flavours of roasted dried fruit, sweet notes of vanilla and cinnamon, and intensely roasted mocha. Rapid ageing, due to the tropical climate of Martinique, causes considerable evaporation, resulting in a noble eau-de-vie within 4 years, comparable to the best Cognacs or Armagnacs.

Tasting notes : the colour is slightly mahogany with a beautiful sheen.

The nose is fine and precise, with lovely notes of vanilla and wood, followed by spices. The palate is very enveloping with a lovely freshness, followed by aromas of white fruit with exotic touches of vanilla, black pepper and liquorice. The finish is quite noble, with a controlled woodiness.

The Clément distillery has been in existence since 1917 and was awarded the AOC in 1996. Since 2005, the Clément Foundation has been supporting the arts and cultural heritage in Martinique.

Best drunk neat, on the rocks or in cocktails.
