If our company, founded in the Gers in 1908, has stood the test of time and established itself, generation after generation, as the benchmark for contemporary French gastronomy, it's not least because it has never compromised on the quality of its products. The strict, rigorous care we take in selecting the raw materials that go into our recipes has earned us numerous medals at the Salon de l'Agriculture, as well as prizes at the SISQA and SIAL.

 

AN EVER-PRESENT SPIRIT OF INNOVATION

Comtesse du Barry has been innovating ever since 1908, when its founder, a tinsmith, started using canned food. Our invention of the block of foie gras in 1954 is a case in point, a revolutionary recipe that led to an increase in the consumption of foie gras, which until then had been reserved for the family circle. Today, Comtesse du Barry continues to sublimate local products by inventing new recipes, adapted to new uses, and daring to create new and tasty combinations.

 

REGIONAL ROOTS LINKED TO AN INTEGRATED APPROACH

Since 2011, Comtesse du Barry has been part of the Maïsadour cooperative group, a major economic player in the South-West thanks to its upstream and downstream integration of the supply chain. This local economic strength and its mode of governance enable it to perpetuate its know-how and culture of innovation while expanding internationally.
